Song of the Moment: Hanson-Hope It Comes Soon

With the U.S. Presidential inauguration fast approaching I can't help but think how appropriate this song is (especially if you consider Obama's campaign message). Pretty cool.

And I guess that's also why I've been listening to this one a lot this month. For those interested you can find this tune on Hanson's "Take The Walk EP" available on Hanson.net.

I'm really hoping they release a music video for one of the songs from this album in the future.

Holy Frak, BSG is back!

Every time Battlestar Galactica begins a new season (or the long awaited second half of one) I'm reminded why it truly is one of the best shows on television.

It's one of the few shows where you still get genuine surprises (and give yourself a pat on the back for staying away from all those tempting spoilers *lol*).

Perhaps one of the best things about it is that you always get more questions then answers leaving you frustrated and yet wanting more.

Such was the case with tonight's ep. For those who have not seen it yet, you might want to click back or scroll down to the bottom ;).

*Starback finding the remains of her viper with her own charred remains WTF? does this make her a cylon too? oddly enough her hair was miraculously intact

*Laura Roslin burning Pythian prophecy books what will become of her leadership I wonder will Lee Adama be the new replacement? will she completely renounce her faith?

*Where will the Galactica crew head now?, will they ever find a suitable planet to live on? and how many of them will survive till they get there?

*How long will Adama soldier on, before he breaks and gives up (much like poor Duala)

*How long will the cylon/human alliance last now that their common purpose is gone?

*How will D'ana die (hopefully it's a little more exciting and less predictable then her taking her own life)

*The 13 colony were cylons? wow what a major blow to the humans (or maybe they're all cylons after all)

*Col. Thigh's wife as the final cylon?! is it the same one that has been appearing as #6? and what the heck does that mean exactly is it the same as the Baltar deal (Ellen being Tighs subconcious?)

Those are just some of the questions I hope to get answers to in the coming weeks. Roll on next Friday!. So what did the rest of you think of this ep?.

6 Reason's why 'Dollhouse' fans should stop with the worrying

We've all spent months being told why we should worry about Dollhouse, but here are some good reasons we shouldn't.

1. Joss' respect for his fans.
Joss has always been very candid with his fans. He tells us things other writers/producers wouldn't. When he says he thinks the show has a shot and is on the right track, history indicates he has earned the benefit of the doubt.

2. Joss' respect for his work.
One source of the fan-freak outs is the knowledge that Fox has been making some 'suggestions' to Joss about things like the tone of the series. I believe in the level of care Joss puts into his work. Do you really think he would make a change that would ruin the show?

3. Fox's bad reputation.
As much as we all like to call them stupid (they have cancelled some amazing shows) Fox is run by buissiness people. And having the rep as the network that cancells shows after 1 season is very bad for buissiness. I know of many people who have made it clear that if this show isn't treated fairly they will never watch Fox again. And I'm pretty sure they know it too. Joss has said they have realised that sci-fi doesn't usually grab an immediate audience. Essentially telling a show's creator that they understand the show wont be a huge success for a while is a big swing in attitude for them.

4. Reviews of the pilot.
Reviews have been ok. Seemingly an even mix of compliments and doubts. The thing is, as much as I love everything Joss writes, pilots aren't his strong point. Do you know anyone whose favourite episodes of Buffy are the first few? or the first few of Angel? when he has this kind of story to tell the first episode is never his best. I've also found that I never appreciate the first episode of a Joss show till I've seen the next few. Once you know more about the characters, once it's not all explaining the mythology of the show, his pilots start to shine. So having complimentary reviews about what will probably be the worst episode he writes is a fantastic sign. (I say 'worst' in comparison to what he'll write after that. It will, of course, still rock.)

5. Terminator: Sarah Connor chronicles.
Not only is that show a sign of Fox's less trigger happy attitude (Hey, a sci-fi that made it to a 2nd season) but I really feel there will be some Dollhouse/T:SCC fan solidarity. Not only are they fans of a show that's in the sci-fi genre featuring a lot of strong female characters (so they are all clearly potential Joss fans) but they know what it's like to be the Fox show everyone thinks is next for the chop. Though people feared the friday slot, I actually think this pairing is going to reel in fans we may not have otherwise had.

6. Because we're freaking people the heck out!
seriously, would you want to give a chance to a show that all the fans were preparing eulogies for before it even started?

Finally, the most important reason to me. Because this is great. After all this time we have another Joss show. Are you really going to enjoy watching it if all the time you're watching you're subconsciously waiting for it to get axed? We're about to have shiny new Joss work! This isn't a time for a case of the angries, this is a time for a Numfar style dance of joy!

I think these are all very valid points, especially #4.

I'm sure I've mentioned this countless times last year, but I'm really really looking forward to this show (regardless of everything that's being said, or has been said about it).

I'm just so happy that we'll once again have a Joss Whedon penned creation on t.v. because we certainly need it.

Cute cockatiel bath antics

Yes, I know I'm a bad bad blogger, I've been neglecting my posting duties this week. Which should tell you just how boring things are at the moment *lol*.

In an effort to break up the aforementioned boredom, here are some cute vidoes I took today of my female cockatiel Cuba (yes it's as weird as it sounds) getting a mist bath.

Actually I should explain this further in the first two videos she thinks she's getting a bath (being sprayed with water) but all I'm doing is blowing air on her feathers *lol*.

Sometimes she's better then a t.v. :D.

No worries though she did get her bath in the end;).

My birdie having a fake-out shower *lol*

Happily taking a nap.

Just for fun: Which t.v. character are you?

Yay, I'm Willow!!. *LOL*. I've always known that I was a big nerd and now I have proof :D.

Dang, I was hoping for Abby Lockheart, but Mark Green is not a bad second (I've always loved his character). The description definitely sounds like me.

BTVS fan-made trailers

It may just be that since aquiring all the box sets on dvd this Christmas I'm on a real Buffy kick at the moment, but I just had to share.

Videos like these are the reason I often spend endless hours on YouTube *lol*.

The person who made these definitely has a future in film editing. It is one superb job, here is hoping there are more to come. Enjoy ;).

'Sarah Connor Chronicles' back to serial format

The experiment to create more standalone adventures within the universe of "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" is over.

The push by Fox to move away from serialized episodes following the first season is no longer existent as producers try to find that magic captured in the first season of the series.

"I think that initially, when we started the second season, kind of one of the requests of sort of the powers that be was that we did more singular episodes," star Thomas Dekker told SciFi Wire. "That's why they invented the wall with all the names on it so that we would be able to do a mission an episode. But that involved a lot of Terminators coming back, and to me, that's always irritated our writers. And now they have permission to be more serialized again, and more science-fiction, so that's happening less."

Many fans had complained that it was too easy for travel back and forth in time, and that in essence, it was creating a lot of story holes and challenging what might have otherwise been a strong season so far for the series.

"Sarah Connor" really needs some sort of boost in the ratings, as it has struggled in its sophomore season. Some have blamed its timeslot, which has it competing with Monday Night Football on cable, while others point out that many second-year shows with shortened production schedules because of last year's Writers Guild of America strike have suffered terribly, including "Pushing Daisies," which has already been denied a full season season by ABC.

"Sarah Connor" nearly faced its own trip to termination with Fox on the verge of canceling the series, before deciding to pair it up with the new Joss Whedon series "Dollhouse" next month.

One reprieve may be all this series gets as Fox is looking for much better numbers, at least closer to what it received in the first season, if it's going to live to see a third year.

It had been rumored at Comic-Con in San Diego that one of the main characters were going to die by executive producer Josh Friedman. When Cromartie, played by Garrett Dillahunt, was finally killed (and later resurrected), many fans believed that was the death Friedman had talked about. Dekker, however, says it's not it.

His character did die," Dekker said of Cromartie. "But then when he's back, maybe he's not the one who dies. I can't really say who. It's so cryptic. Somebody still has to die. Yes, there's still a major death, I think."

"Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" returns to Fox Feb. 13 at 8 p.m. ET.

Hmmm....isn't this an interesting development so Sarah Connor Chronicles is going to be more serialized while Joss Whedon's Dollhouse will have more standalone storylines.

Someone at Fox needs to go back and chek Joss's resume again, 'cause I think they have that backwards. Joss is the master of serialized t.v. why make him do individual stories?.

Hopefully that's something that will be remedied once Dollhouse garners a decent fan-base.

As for that last paragraph of the article, all I have to say is I knew it!.

I knew Chromarti was not the big death Josh Friedman keeps teasing us with.

My money is still on Agent Ellison...or possibly Derek Reece.

A bit more on Kelly Clarkson's new single

The lyrics to Kelly Clarkson’s much-anticipated upcoming single, “My Life Would Suck Without You”, was just released on PopEater.

The song will be released to radio on January 19 with the album, reportedly called Masquerade, set for a March 17 release. It was written by pop wizards Max Martin, Dr. Luke and Claude Kelly.

Kelly Clarkson - “My Life Would Suck Without You” Lyrics

Guess this means you’re sorry
You’re standing at my door
Guess this means you take back
What you said before
Like how much you wanted
Anyone but me
Said you’d never come back
But here you are again
Cuz we belong together now
Forever united here somehow
You got a piece of me
And honestly
My life would suck without you
Maybe I was stupid for telling you goodbye
Maybe I was wrong for tryin’ to pick a fight
I know that I’ve got issues
But you’re pretty messed up too
Anyway, I found out I’m nothing without you
Cuz we belong together now
Forever united here somehow
You got a piece of me
And honestly
My life would suck without you
Being with you is so dysfunctional
I really shouldn’t miss you, but I can’t let go
Oh yeah
Cuz we belong together now
Forever united here somehow
You got a piece of me
And honestly
My life would suck without you

Lyrics usually only tell half the story, but I would say so far so good. Though I'm really curious about what the song actually sounds like.

As for the album title not the most original, but the cover makes up for it (assuming it'll be the same).

"Dead Like Me" movie finally ready for resurrection

Well, it's been a year almost exactly in fact to the day since I last posted news about the Dead Like Me movie. Or Dead Like Me: Life After Death as it's been so aptly titled.

This direct to dvd movie has had quite a long delay it's original release was suppose to be in July of last year.

According to tvshowsondvd (along with many other sources I've seen around the net). We finally have an honest to goodness final release date of February 17, 2009.

I'm definitely going out and grabbing myself a copy. Also for those who may not know the movie did air on t.v. January 1st of this year on the Canadian Super Channel.

If you happened to have that channel than consider yourself very lucky the rest of us will just have to continue counting the days.

Song of the Moment: Hanson-Lay Me Down

Possibly one of the saddest and most poignant songs these guys have ever written.

I will admit to shedding a few tears the first time I heard it. It really tugs at the heart strings.

Glitter in the Air......

Have you ever fed a lover with just your hands?
Closed your eyes and trusted, just trusted?
Have you ever thrown a fist full of glitter in the air?
Have you ever looked fear in the face and said “I just don’t care?”

It’s only half past the point of no return
The tip of the iceberg, the sun before the burn
The thunder before the lightning, the breath before the phrase
Have you ever felt this way?

Have you ever hated yourself for staring at the phone?
Your whole life waiting on the ring to prove you’re not alone
Have you ever been touched so gently you had to cry?
Have you ever invited a stranger to come inside?

It’s only half past the point of oblivion
The hourglass on the table, the walk before the run
The breath before the kiss, and the fear before the flames
Have you ever felt this way?

There you are, sitting in the garden
Clutching my coffee, calling me sugar
You called me sugar

Have you ever wished for an endless night?
Lassoed the moon and the stars and pulled that rope tight?
Have you ever held your breath
And asked yourself “Will it ever get better than tonight?”

Tonight
